Guitar Techniques - - Lesson: Jazz -

Our second example features a descending four-note Bb Whole-Tone pattern over a Bb7#5 chord resolving to Eb from Chuck Wayne. The pattern is based on moving down the scale in 3rds, but with every other two notes reversed, with Wayne descending a major 3rd then down a 2nd and back up a major 3rd, taking this sequence across the neck with a two-notes-per string approach and ultimately resolving to the 5th (C) on the Eb69 chord.
