With a re­vised line-up and a re­cent US tour un­der their belt, 2014 has been a pro­duc­tive time for Crim­son. In­deed, the past few years have seen an un­prece­dented amount of out­put from the band. In 2012 they re­leased the multi-CD set of Larks’ Tongues In As­pic, fol­lowed a year later by an almighty 24-disc col­lec­tion, The Road To Red. But they’ve saved the real jug­ger­naut for this year be­cause Star­less clocks in with no less than 27 discs on board. Chrono­log­i­cally, this par­tic­u­lar set fits in be­tween Larks’ Tongues and The Road To Red, as it doc­u­ments the band’s Euro­pean tours in 1973 and 74. So 19 discs are ef­fec­tively live al­bums drawn from that pe­riod. With The Mighty Crims,
