[Bars 105-end] This song is perhaps best known for its frenetic ending. I’ve charted it as per the original, which means the bass movement from 5th to root effectively ‘turns around’ during the accelerando three-four bar. This is probably unintentional since the structure is largely improvised. In some live versions the bass falls on the side of typical countr y style root to 5th, with the ending cued by Pete, so there’s no real method to the madness. Just keep your eyes glued to the structure as charted here and watch out for the rapid accelerando towards the end. I’ve put the violin solo on the backing, but you could easily play a guitar solo over this section using a similar F Mixolydian approach.
