Get the tone
Ted played and owned many different styles of guitar over the years, including an impressive collection of Guild and Gibson hollow-bodies. But he had a real passion for, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of, the Fender Telecaster, favouring its extended scale length and perfect neck pickup placement. We’re looking at a warm, balanced natural clean tone with a healthy amount of reverb. Use fingers and remember that Ted liked to drop-tune the guitar, often down by a minor 3rd (C#-F#-B-E-G#-C#) to create a fuller tone when playing solo.
