Ma­jor tri­ads. The open­ing bar shows you the three pos­si­ble triad in­ver­sions of D ma­jor: R-3-5 = root in­ver­sion; 3-5-R = first in­ver­sion; 5-R-3 = sec­ond in­ver­sion. This ex­er­cise fea­tures a clas­sic rock triad play­ing over a D pedal typ­i­cal of Pete Town­shend. Use a sat­u­rated tone and some trail­ing echo to com­plete the pic­ture.
