PLAYING TIPS

cd track 18

Guitar Techniques - - PLAY | METAL -

[Bar 84] At the end of the first verse, switch to your distorted sound and perform a pick-scrape to transition to the pre-chorus (bar 85); hold your pick at a right-angle to the strings and scrape from the bridge toward the neck. [Bar 85 - 101] The pre-chorus has a ‘pushed’ feel, which means that the chords typically change an eighth-note before the bar lines. Pushes are a favourite ploy with rock bands: Thin Lizzy being a prime example.
