Ma­jor 13th chords sound clean and wide, but can also be lush (think Blue La­goon). This pro­gres­sion uses static Ma­jor 13 chords to hold clean-cut mod­ern har­mony. Some of th­ese voic­ings are de­rived from the shapes shown ear­lier, but shape 2 is some­what tricky to play with a dif­fi­cult stretch (you can al­ways re­po­si­tion the root onto the fifth string, al­though this makes it more like shape 3).
