Example2 Close voicings in a Latin fusion groove

Guitar Techniques - - LEARNING ZONE -

These close voicing shapes are on the top four strings, built in 3rds R-3-5-7, they sound sweet and harmonious. They’re great for light rhythm guitar playing in all styles and are all derived from the top of Shape 1 in the CAGED system. Play the m7 chord using 4-2-2-1, the second finger covers two strings to enable you to stretch further when playing lower down the guitar neck.

m7b5 The chord is normally played using 4-3-2-1 (with a fourth finger stretch)

m7b5 but the F# in Bar 4 sounded too high up around the 15 fret, so I dropped it an octave and used an open string in the voicing.
