Example JEFF BUCKLEY STYLE
Why play a G Major when a G6add#II will add so much more! Again, these dissonant-sounding chords are at first unexpected, but persevere with them and you’ll see how they take the music on a journey that is far from the usual, predictable sequences you find in most pop and rock writing.
This sequence is predominantly driven by the bassline. In this case the bassline descends, which gives us an opportunity to use the D-E-F chord motion driven by the descending bassline. Although a strumming exercise, this should tax your fingers and brain and hopefully inspire your own writing.
