Example2 Quartal Blues scale voicings in a fusion groove

Guitar Techniques - - INTRO -

Ab- This example uses quartal voicings of the D Blues scale (D-F-G- A-C) across different string sets, in two, three and four-note block chords. In Bars 1 and 2 the Blues scale is shown on the top note of the fourth voicings, whereas later in the second time bar, it is usually the second note from the top. I played this example phrasing liberally with fingers and pick. It’s a typically ‘jazz-fusion’ type sound and very Lee Ritenour (LA session and solo guitarist).
