At bar 53 the piece changes gear and the tempo slows slightly as we go into a syncopated section that is surprisingly groovy for its era. It can feel quite fiddly for the picking hand so I have indicated a solution for you to try. From bar 60 there is more movement in the bassline – these bass notes need to be given their full value for the piece to sound effective, so do pay attention to them and don’t cut them off in their prime!
