EXAMPLE1 Two in one

Played only on the top four strings, this descending chord progression demonstrates a loose, strummy style, with contrasting short chord ‘chops’ on beats 2 and 4 of the bar. Back in detroit, there would usually be two guitarists covering this, but it’s possible to get the effect of two using this technique. It doesn’t come easy (pun intended) but is great for filling space in a single guitar line-up.
