vibrato and bends
vibrato and string bends are the heart and soul of any blues player’s style. Freddie’s subtle vibrato is most noticeable on the higher notes, where he will often gradually let it become wider as he develops a phrase, while albert’s wide bends are the first thing you notice. a good tip is to brace two or even three fingers together for extra strength. bb often takes his thumb off the back of the neck to facilitate a wider vibrato, though some of his jazzier moments refrain from any string manipulation at all, which is effective when it comes to playing dynamics.
