Here we see the vi-ii-v-i se­quence in e in both three and four-note chord voic­ings. The trick here is to look at the smooth con­nected voic­ing lead­ing be­tween chords each shape. There is never any kind of abrupt shift or huge leap to ar­tic­u­late, so it’s a good idea when ap­proach­ing a chord se­quence to try to find as many of the in one area of the fret­board as pos­si­ble.
