EXAMPLE8/FIGURE8 ClaSSiCal pivoting

Guitar Techniques - - TECHNIQUE -

Pivoting is the term given to a repeated pattern incorporating an ascending or descending line. Use alternating down/upstrokes and choose your fretting fingers carefully. A finger per fret doesn’t always work, but makes a good starting point, even if this means jumping between the first and third strings at the end of each phrase. Skipping between non-adjacent strings is tricky, but, like anything, slow repetition of the most logical technique yields results.
