On this ex­am­ple the pro­gres­sion is a fairly stan­dard E Blues, us­ing both E Mi­nor Pen­ta­tonic (E-G-a-B-D) and E Mixoly­dian scale (E-F#-G#-a-B-C#-D-E), since the Dom­i­nant chord struc­ture al­lows both the Ma­jor 3rd and the Mi­nor 3rd sound (es­pe­cially with the 3 pushed slightly sharp for the clas­sic blues ‘curl’.
