Long hours of prac­tice can cause back­ache for many peo­ple so re­mem­ber to stand up and walk around at reg­u­lar in­ter­vals to give your back a rest. Be aware of your pos­ture when prac­tis­ing – are your shoul­ders tense? Are you lean­ing to one side? Try to be cen­tered and bal­anced when you play and pay at­ten­tion to any aches and pains. Slow, calm prac­tice al­low­ing for ac­cu­rate pre­ci­sion in both hands is the most ben­e­fi­cial so aim for a quiet sense of fo­cus, con­cen­trat­ing on the de­tails and don’t play through any phys­i­cal dis­com­fort.
