Fol­low­ing a more lin­ear ap­proach along the fret­board, this fi­nal phrase plays with some ma­jor/mi­nor am­bi­gu­ity with the move be­tween Bb and B nat­u­ral, then a suc­ces­sion of slid­ing in­ter­vals on the 1st and 3rd strings – omit­ting the 2nd un­til the mid­dle of bar 2. The end­ing lick stays lin­ear on the 1st string (mostly be­cause that’s what hap­pened on the day), but it fits with the con­cept of avoid­ing too many scale ‘boxes’.
