An im­por­tant point to raise is that ca­pac­i­tors in­side amps can hold a lethal charge even some time after the amp is switched off, so un­plug­ging the amp will not nec­es­sar­ily make you safe. Don’t take the risk – keep your hands or other im­ple­ments well away from the exposed cir­cuitry and get a qual­i­fied tech to per­form in­spec­tion and main­te­nance in­side your amp.
