2016 PASSEL ESTATE MARGARET RIVER CHARDONNAY

Gin Gin clone, cold-crushed, the juice cold-settled for 2-3 days, cool-fermented in French oak, 30% mlf, matured on lees for 10 months. A particular­ly bright and fresh chardonnay with excellent varietal character, length and balance. It cleared the minimum alcohol height bar, any lower and there might have been issues (but it wasn’t and there weren’t). 12.5% alc.

WINEMAKER Bruce Dukes How did you approach the winemaking for this chardonnay?

This wine is a delightful expression of the finest Margaret River chardonnay. Made from the fruit of a single vineyard, it was fermented in French oak barrels (35% new), then matured in barrel on its lees for 10 months.
