2016 SMALL ISLAND BLACK LABEL PINOT NOIR

Halliday - Supplement - - Pinot Noir & Nebbiolo Red Hot & Rated -

RRP $45 / 2025

Made using grapes from both the Gala (east) and Glen Garry (north) Vineyards. 180 dozen produced. Perfumed and pretty on the one hand, stewy and a little grumpy on the other. It rushes up to greet you but then holds you in a moody stare. Cranberry, forest berries, florals, sweet dry spices. It has all the basics covered, but it then adds some flare. You’d bet on this developing well. CM 13.5% alc. This wine is aimed to be a great example of Tasmanian pinot. We used the power and mid-palate from Glen Garry to complement the perfume of the Gala fruit. As we heard from a fan of this wine: “Nine months ago we enjoyed a bottle of your pinot and, well, it’s a boy!”
