High in oak, high in fruit, high in quality. This is warm-but-fresh; its raspberry, boysenberry and violet-like drivers layered with cedar wood and sweet smoke, its fine-grained tannin pulling everything into a neat, powerful package. CM 15% alc. Pure Eden is a single-site wine, from an Eden Valley vineyard believed to be planted by Charles Angas in the 1890s. It was later owned by the Shiltons (1911–1926), Meakins (1926-1929), the Roeslers (19291961), the Andretzkes (1961-2011) and now the Lindner family. This wine is a reward for their foresight in planting shiraz in the Barossa’s high country and for the families who helped cherish, shape and tend an incredible old vineyard. It’s a privilege to work with fruit from such a fantastic old site. Stylistically, Pure Eden Shiraz is the ‘yin’ to The Freedom 1843 shiraz’s ‘yang’.
