2014 SANGUINE ESTATE D’ORSA HEATHCOTE SHIRAZ

Halliday - Supplement - - Shiraz & Blends Red Hot & Rated -

RRP $69.95 / 2035

The flag bearer for Sanguine Estate, and rightly so. It is in the full-bodied arena of almost all of Sanguine’s Shirazs, but its opulence is polished and supple, black berries, plums and currants supported by balanced tannins. The goodquality, properly-inserted and wax-sealed cork should do its job for the 20-plus years needed for this wine to complete its journey. 15% alc. This wine is carefully crafted each year to pay homage to an incredible event that occurred nearly 20 years ago. We discovered that my great-great grandfather Pietro D’Orsa immigrated to Australia in the late 1860s with vines in hand and planted a vineyard in Maldon, a town not that far from where we had planted our own vineyard.
