2017 Best’s Old Clone Great Western Pinot Noir
Hand-picked, the vines planted ’71 and ’87, wild yeast open-fermented with 80% whole bunches, matured for 6 months in French oak (20% new). Excellent colour; there’s a purity to the aroma, flavour and mouthfeel of this wine that is striking. Plum, strawberry and cherry are bound tight together by an invisible yet relentless force, at once a single flavour, yet many, each separate. Complex? Yes, very, but beautiful. 12.5% alc.
