2017 PREECE Nagambie Chardonnay
Winemaker: Travis Clydesdale
Delicate aromas of nougat, citrus blossom and spicy oak notes swirl and lift from the glass. Stone fruit and citrus rind combine and build ahead of a fresh and cleansing finish.
What defines your style of chardonnay?
The Preece style of chardonnay aims to capture the classic characters of the variety. Primary characters of peach, nectarine and crisp citrus prevail, with subtle secondary French oak notes of grilled nuts and cream.
What techniques do you use for this wine?
In honoring the legacy of Colin Preece, techniques are aimed at retaining freshness, while at the same time enhancing the complexity that chardonnay is inherently capable of delivering. Early picking aids the retention of crisp and refreshing natural acidity, while extended lees contact on high-quality French oak builds texture and savoury bite.
