What do you love most about your re­gion? RIES­LING! Clare Val­ley fruit al­lows us to pro­duce in­tense, age­wor­thy wines due to its con­ti­nen­tal cli­mate with hot sum­mers, cold win­ters, high alti­tude and low rain­fall. Our fruit is picked from 15- to 50-year-old vines that are sourced from a se­lec­tion of vine­yards from the Water­vale sub­re­gion, in­clud­ing the Ack­land Vine­yard. Our ries­ling grapes in par­tic­u­lar of­fer tremen­dous fresh­ness, del­i­cacy and per­sis­tence that are gen­er­ous in flavour. I am proud that Knapp­stein wines hon­estly re­flect the true na­ture of Clare Val­ley vine­yards.

What should we make time for at your cel­lar door this sum­mer? Knapp­stein is open daily, so our guests are wel­come to en­joy a range of tast­ings every day, in­clud­ing lim­ited re­leases, mu­seum back­v­in­tages and cel­lar door exclusives.

The cel­lar door is in the orig­i­nal 19th-cen­tury En­ter­prise Brew­ery, which is recog­nised as a Na­tional Trust build­ing and sig­nif­i­cant land­mark in the Clare township. A visit here of­fers an in­ter­est­ing his­toric and ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ence – a must see for all vis­i­tors to the re­gion.
