What do you love most about your region? We source fruit from a number of wine regions – primarily Clare Valley, but also the Riverland, McLaren Vale and Barossa – and they all have a great ability to grow grapes that make great wine easily. The soils are geologically old, so not rich, and they are freedraining in the summer and autumn days, which, together with the dry air, make for intense, rich and balanced wines. It is hard to find bad food or bad wine in South Australia!

What should we make time for at your cellar door this summer? We were one of the first wineries to set up a cellar door in the Adelaide CBD, so come and visit to try our wines, along with the wines of our friends, perhaps paired with a cheese platter. You could even try a spicy vermentino together with aged goat’s cheese, salt-bush leaves and green ants. Yes, green ants – they are very good!
