What excites you most about Central Otago right now?

Central Otago is evolving. Vine age is developing and alongside that is a more considered style of winemaking. Central Otago used to have the reputation of producing big, brash, fruit-bomb pinot, but with age comes refinement.

The region’s winemakers are leading the charge, producing wines that show greater nuance and elegance.

What do you believe sets your winery apart?

Our focus is pinot noir. We produce three individual expressions of Central Otago’s hallmark varietal: Nanny Goat Vineyard, an approachable regional blend encompassing many vineyards, individual blocks and clones; Super Nanny, our vineyard selection of only the best parcels of fruit; and Basket Case, a small-batch wine that delves into the deeper connection between winemaker and meticulous, hands-on winemaking techniques.
