Health coach Gina Bria and Dr Dana Co­hen have co-writ­ten a book (out 2018) called Quench: Re­claim Your En­ergy and Health with the New Sci­ence of Hy­dra­tion that de­mands a re­think. After re­search­ing how desert peo­ple use plants such as cac­tus and chia to hy­drate, Bria re­alised the an­swer is gel wa­ter and elec­trolytes. Adding more fruit and veg, chia seeds and bone broth to your diet, or just a pinch of rock salt or dash of lime to your wa­ter will do the job.
