NOM­I­NA­TIONS are now open to res­i­dents in the Shire of Waroona to recog­nise those in the com­mu­nity who make a dif­fer­ence in the 2018 Aus­tralia Day Awards.

Nom­i­na­tions are now open for the WA Ci­ti­zen of the Year Awards which aims to foster, recog­nise and cel­e­brate sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tions to com­mu­nity life and ac­tive cit­i­zen­ship.

Peo­ple can also nom­i­nate in­di­vid­u­als or clubs for the Mer­i­to­ri­ous Com­mu­nity Ser­vice award, which ac­knowl­edges the vol­un­tary con­tri­bu­tions made by peo­ple for the ben­e­fit of the com­mu­nity.

Nom­i­na­tions have to be handed into the Waroona Shire Coun­cil of­fices by no later than 4pm on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 27.

The awards are a joint ini­tia­tive of the Aus­tralia Day Coun­cil of WA, the WA Lo­cal Govern­ment As­so­ci­a­tion and the Gov­er­nor of WA.
