16-year-old boy faces bur­glary, weapons charges

WA­ROONA po­lice have charged a 16-yearold boy fol­low­ing two bur­glar­ies in the town last week.

On September 3, an el­derly woman’s Wa­roona house was bur­gled as she sat in her front room with the of­fender al­legedly en­ter­ing through the back.

It is al­leged later that day the of­fender bran­dished an axe be­fore evad­ing po­lice.

About mid­day on Tues­day there was an- other bur­glary in Wa­roona.

The 16-year-old boy was sub­se­quently ar­rested and charged af­ter he was al­legedly found in pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty.

He faced 14 charges in­clud­ing two counts of as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer, re­sist­ing ar­rest and a weapons of­fence when he ap­peared in Bun­bury Chil­dren’s Court last Wed­nes­day and was re­manded in cus­tody.
