En­trants re­warded for skills

AS nearly 14,000 peo­ple came through the gates at the 86th Brunswick Show, more than 1000 en­tries were on dis­play in com­pe­ti­tions in­clud­ing cook­ing, crafts, gar­den­ing and artis­tic skill.

In the sec­ond Har­vey Beef bon­ing com­pe­ti­tion, de­fend­ing cham­pion Luke At­twell re­tained his ti­tle in a close fi­nal against Yu-Hung Lin.

Rob Wil­liams won the hot and mild classes of the Ital­ian sausage com­pe­ti­tion amidst 65 en­tries.

Cham­pion rose of the show was awarded to Taz Arm­strong, of Ea­ton, and re­serve awarded to Tr­ish Welsh.

In the vegeta­bles sec­tion, Trevor Of­fer was awarded the FJ Ge­orge Memo­rial Tro­phy, the Gor­don Robin­son voucher, the Of­fer Fam­ily Award and the Con­da­rina Spring prize.

River Val­ley Pri­mary School won both ju­nior gar­dener tro­phies.

For the most points awarded in the craft­ing sec­tion, Lynette Rae was be­stowed the Mrs E M Pear­son Memo­rial Tro­phy hav­ing al­ready won five tro­phies.

Adrie Noo­d­er­meer won the high­est points in the cook­ing sec­tion.

Out on the oval in the eques­trian events, the Supreme of Supreme ti­tle was awarded to minia­ture pony Am­berville Show­time, ex­hib­ited by Catriona Roe. The cham­pion ju­nior hack was won by Is­abella Pe­den on Blos­som Park Royal Oc­ca­sion while the cham­pion se­nior hack was awarded to Nina John­ston on Taun­ton Vale Franklin.

Cham­pion Aus­tralian stock horse went to Re­gan Weight­man on May­town Bri­anna Lee.
