Regional Development Trust
THE WA Regional Development Trust has a new hand at the helm with the State Government appointing Brendan Hammond as chairman last week.
Mr Hammond replaces outgoing chairman Tim Shanahan in the role.
The Trust provides independent advice to the Regional Development Minister, Alannah MacTiernan, on the application and management of Royalties for Regions.
Ms MacTiernan said Mr Hammond would bring drive to the trust and provide advice as the State Government shifted the focus of Royalties for Regions to creating long-term jobs in the regions.
Mr Hammond was awarded the Governor’s Award for Regional Development at the Western Australian Citizen of the Year Awards in 2011 and is also chairman of the Pilbara Development Commission.
