Players end season on a bright note
LAST Thursday was the closing day for the women at the Harvey Golf Club.
The event included a cancer fundraiser sponsored by Marion Taylor and all the women turned up in their wonderful pink attire.
It was played as a stableford competition, but with a silent partner. Therefore the players did not find out who their partners were until the presentations were held.
Luckily Maggie O’Reilly, who had the most points with 36, managed to draw the card of another good player in Delilah Hurley so Maggie and Delilah finished the day winners with a score of 68.
Noelene Withers and Judith Doyle came second with 63 closely followed by Glenys Newman and Julie Rando on 62.
Novelties were shared by Lyn Egerton-Green, With- ers, Doyle and Shirley Hall.
A total of $850 was raised by the players and friends with a Pandora bracelet being raffled, which was won by Katie Buswell, and other various small raffles and donations adding to the total.
The money will help fund a McGrath Foundation breast-care nurse. The summer competition gets under way on November 24 with 8am tee off.
