COLLIE were hosts to 138 veteran golfers who praised the excellent condition of the course on Monday, November 6.
A three-way countback was required to decide the winner which went to Boyup Brook’s Ian Tweedie (gross winner as well) with Harvey’s Ray Suarez runner-up and Dunsborough/Lakes Richard Courtney in third. All players recording 40 points.
Busselton’s John Greenfield and Barry Pilatti were next on 39 from Sanctuary’s Bill Bielby and Bill Buchanan on 38.
Biellby counted Buchanan out for the OBE award. Brian Chatfield (Busselton) Garry Dawson (Harvey), David Hilsz (Binningup), Jeff Taylor (Waroona) and Tim Trethowan (Kojonup) all carded 37 points.
Next on 36 points were Peter Coombs(Collie), Alan Grieve (Harvey), Colin Hartnett (Busselton), John Powell (Harvey), Arthur Reeve (Manjimup), John Urquhart (Waroona), Mel Williamson (Dunsborough) and Steve Sanford (Manjimup).
