COL­LIE were hosts to 138 vet­eran golfers who praised the ex­cel­lent con­di­tion of the course on Mon­day, Novem­ber 6.

A three-way count­back was re­quired to de­cide the win­ner which went to Boyup Brook’s Ian Tweedie (gross win­ner as well) with Har­vey’s Ray Suarez run­ner-up and Duns­bor­ough/Lakes Richard Court­ney in third. All play­ers record­ing 40 points.

Bus­sel­ton’s John Green­field and Barry Pi­latti were next on 39 from Sanc­tu­ary’s Bill Bielby and Bill Buchanan on 38.

Biellby counted Buchanan out for the OBE award. Brian Chat­field (Bus­sel­ton) Garry Daw­son (Har­vey), David Hilsz (Bin­ningup), Jeff Tay­lor (Waroona) and Tim Trethowan (Ko­jonup) all carded 37 points.

Next on 36 points were Peter Coombs(Col­lie), Alan Grieve (Har­vey), Colin Hart­nett (Bus­sel­ton), John Pow­ell (Har­vey), Arthur Reeve (Man­jimup), John Urquhart (Waroona), Mel Wil­liamson (Duns­bor­ough) and Steve San­ford (Man­jimup).

Kevin Roney has fi­nally got over his virus which has cur­tailed his golf lately to score a great 42 points to beat the tro­phy donor of the day Alan Cope who had 39 points.

Harold Bris­lin was third on 38 points.
