Young achievers nominated
FOUR young leaders in Harvey and Australind were among nominees announced for the WA Young Achievers Awards.
Billie Knell and Will Drew, both of Australind, were nominated for the Surge Fitness Sports Award for their many achievements and awards in kayaking and sailing respectively, on State, national and international levels.
Australind’s Giselle Taylor was nominated for the Masonic Care WA/ Freemasons WA Community Service and Volunteering Award for her efforts coordinating many fundraising events to build schools and other activities in Cambodia and for Beyond Blue.
Tiara Ursua, of Harvey, was nominated for the Catholic Education Western Australia Young Leadership Award for her work at Hocart Lodge, from work experience to her role as assistant to the chief executive officer, improving communication and efficiency and encouraging others in their roles.
Judging begins on March 22, with finalists named and winners announced at an awards gala presentation dinner in Perth on May 26.
