Young achiev­ers nom­i­nated

FOUR young lead­ers in Har­vey and Aus­tralind were among nom­i­nees an­nounced for the WA Young Achiev­ers Awards.

Bil­lie Knell and Will Drew, both of Aus­tralind, were nom­i­nated for the Surge Fit­ness Sports Award for their many achieve­ments and awards in kayak­ing and sail­ing re­spec­tively, on State, na­tional and in­ter­na­tional lev­els.

Aus­tralind’s Giselle Tay­lor was nom­i­nated for the Ma­sonic Care WA/ Freema­sons WA Com­mu­nity Ser­vice and Vol­un­teer­ing Award for her ef­forts co­or­di­nat­ing many fundrais­ing events to build schools and other ac­tiv­i­ties in Cam­bo­dia and for Be­yond Blue.

Tiara Ur­sua, of Har­vey, was nom­i­nated for the Catholic Ed­u­ca­tion West­ern Aus­tralia Young Lead­er­ship Award for her work at Ho­cart Lodge, from work ex­pe­ri­ence to her role as as­sis­tant to the chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, im­prov­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion and ef­fi­ciency and en­cour­ag­ing oth­ers in their roles.

Judg­ing be­gins on March 22, with fi­nal­ists named and win­ners an­nounced at an awards gala pre­sen­ta­tion din­ner in Perth on May 26.
