THE first Coun­try Vets Golf event of the year was at Capel on Fe­bru­ary 5 with a bal­lot re­quired to re­duce the field to max­i­mum num­bers.

Well done to Har­vey’s Garry Daw­son who pro­duced the win­ning score of 42 points closely fol­lowed in the run­ners-up po­si­tion by Bin­ningup’s David Hilsz on 41.

Scor­ing con­tin­ued to be good in the ideal con­di­tions and well done to the fol­low­ing:

Robin Towns, of Wa­roona, Richard Walker, of Green­bushes, all with 40 points. Ken McCamish, of Sanc­tu­ary, with 39 points.

John Till­man, of Bridgetown, Trevor Espinos, of Bus­sel­ton, both with 38 points. Ron Car­mondy, of Duns­bor­ough, Mal Wil­liamson, of Duns­bor­ough, James House, of Capel, Glenn Carter, of Duns­bor­ough Lakes, who was also the gross win­ner with 74, Den­nis Owens, of Bun­bury, Tim Trethowan, of Ko­jonup, John Jenk­ins, of Katan­ning, Brian Neal, of Au­gusta, and Jock Aaird, of Boyup Brook, all with 37 points each.
