Min­is­ter a guest at Cy­ber Safety talk

FOR­REST MHR Nola Marino will speak at a spe­cial Cy­ber Safety pre­sen­ta­tion to­mor­row.

The free event is on at 9am to 10.30am at the Har­vey Com­mu­nity Re­source Cen­tre.

Spe­cial guest speaker at the event will be Fed­eral Law En­force­ment and Cy­ber Se­cu­rity Min­is­ter An­gus Tay­lor.

Mrs Marino’s pre­sen­ta­tions cover not only on­line scams, but also the risks as­so­ci­ated with so­cial me­dia, cy­ber bul­ly­ing, dig­i­tal foot­print, what it means to be groomed on­line and se­cu­rity weak­nesses in a mo­bile phone such as lo­ca­tion ser­vices.

Mr Tay­lor has bach­e­lors de­grees in eco­nom­ics and law from the Uni­ver­sity of Syd­ney, and a Master of Phi­los­o­phy in Eco­nom­ics from Ox­ford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

As the au­thor of the Men­zies Re­search Cen­tre es­say ‘The Prom­ise of Dig­i­tal Gov­ern­ment’, Mr Tay­lor’s unique per­spec­tive will add an­other di­men­sion to the cy­ber safety pre­sen­ta­tion.
