Last stop the South West
BIGGER ramps, bigger stunts and Donnybrook’s own Josh Sheehan is the promise for next month’s Nitro Circus show at Hands Oval by promoter and legendary daredevil Travis Pastrana.
Pastrana, who founded the worldrenowned spectacle, is bringing the Next Level Tour to Bunbury on April 25.
The tour stops in Mildura before making its way to Warrnambool on April 14 and then Perth on April 21.
Pastrana has been suffering from an injured wrist for the first part of the tour, but expects to be fit for the WA leg.
“I am really excited to get out to the west coast of Australia,” he said.
“I should be riding for the rest of the tour, including Bunbury. So, yes, I am super excited.”
The 34-year-old said the tour had so far exceeded his expectations.
“The riders have all stepped up and most of them have stayed healthy despite a few big crashes,” he said.
“The new moto ramps have been the highlight for me with multiple double back flips and front flip variations in every show.
“But the contest we added on the giganta (ramp) has elevated the tricks and the new contraptions have provided a lot of entertainment.”
Sheehan has been putting in some big performances so far this tour, according to Pastrana.
“Josh truly is a unicorn,” he said.
“He has won the MVA (most valuable athlete) at two of the first three shows.
“Josh and Harry Bink are on a level of their own in the sport of FMX.
“It’s a privilege watching them perform together in the shows.”
The crew will stay at Sheehan’s house for the week before the Bunbury show. Pastrana said he was excited to be coming to the South West.
“It’s a really fun place that feels like a second home for a lot of our crew,” he said.
“Also, because it’s the last stop of the tour, everyone will be going huge and putting it all on the line.
“He (Josh) isn’t one to hold much back anywhere, but I know Josh wants to make his hometown show his best performance of the tour.
“Josh is our anchor. Not just for Nitro Circus but the entire FMX world. His blue collar work ethic is unparalleled.
“He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty when it comes to building his own ramps and working on his own equipment.
“That and he is the only rider in the world who has ever done a triple back flip.”
Travis Pastrana is excited to bring Nitro Circus’ The Next Level Tour to Bunbury next month.
