KIDS GET CREATIVE FOR EASTER
CHILDREN from Harvey enjoyed colouring in and had a hopping good time at the Harvey Library Easter egg decorating competition last week.
The participants coloured in and decorated an Easter egg template and also had the chance to craft some colourful Easter bonnets.
Artist Ann Kumar judged the Easter colouring-in competition, praising all entrants on their creativity.
Taylor Sherlock, 4, won the four and under category for her creative use of colour.
In the 5-8 age category, Jude Manton, 6, took the prize for his excellent use of colour and craft resources.
For those aged nine and above, Georgia Taylor, 9, won for her well-balanced work, which displayed a good use of colour.
The three were rewarded for their artistic efforts with a bag of Easter chocolate goodies.
Principal librarian Ruth Campbell-Hicks said the competition had received great response and being judged by a professional artist gave the children a boost in confidence.
“The competition was judged by a professional artist who was impressed by the range of creativity displayed and encouraged by the skills of local children,” she said.
All entries are now on display at the library.
India Garlick, 9, Taya Hunt, 11, and Jaimelee Miller, 10, all of Harvey, display their Easter colouring competition entries.
