Dol­phins go swim­mingly at meet

GOLDEN West Dol­phins surged through the 2018 Coun­try Pen­nants in Man­durah on March 3-4, with a big im­prove­ment over last year’s re­sults.

The swim­ming club, based at Leschenault Leisure Cen­tre, at­tended the meet which is one of the big­gest on the WA cal­en­dar with 32 coun­try clubs at­tend­ing and more than 900 swim­mers.

The club’s 35 swim­mers com­peted in A divi­sion, divi- sions run­ning from A to E, and fin­ished an im­pres­sive fifth over­all and third in re­lays. This year the club earned 41 medals, 30 in­di­vid­ual and 11 in re­lays.

An out­stand­ing im­prove­ment in the club, hav­ing in 2017 achieved 17 medals; 16 in­di­vid­ual and one in a re­lay.
