Fit Bulls ready to charge
HARVEY Bulls have been putting in their biggest preseason yet to get a leg up on the opposition before the season kicks off on April 14.
League coach Paul Fimmano said preseason training had seen big numbers at the club, with a focus on fitness and ball skills to ensure a strong start to the season.
“We wanted to be fitter early on so we could have a really good start to the whole season,” he said.
“We had 30 to 40 players which was really good for a town like us.”
Former Bulls Michael Robinson and Reece Blechynden will be making a return to the side this year, coming from the Lower South West and Goldfields leagues.
Ryan Mckinlay and Eli Smith will also be joining the Bulls, both coming over from Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.
“We should have a really strong team,” Fimmano said.
Leading the team will be co-captains Brendon Jones and Ryan Moony.
The Bulls made it through to the third round of the finals last season, narrowly missing out by five points to the eventual premiers, Bunbury.
“The goal will be to finish in the top three and then we’ll take it from there,” Fimmano said.
Harvey Bulls speedster Jacob Pickett boots the ball upfield.
Brendon Jones will be leading the side this season as co-captain.
Former Bull Reece Blechynden, right, will be returning to the club this season coming from Kalgoorlie.
