Girl ‘lucky’ in rollover
A young driver is lucky to have walked away unharmed from a single vehicle rollover in Lake Clifton, according to Harvey police.
Officers were called to the crash on Forrest Highway about 2am on September 24.
A 17-year-old Australind woman was found to be unhurt and the attending officers believe she may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
The woman will be summonsed for allegedly driving contrary to her learner’s permit.
A 38-year-old Harvey woman was arrested on September 20 for breach of bail, disorderly behaviour in public and trespass.
Police conveyed the woman to Bunbury Magistrates Court where she was released on bail.
She will appear before the Harvey Magistrates Court this month.
During the long weekend police maintained a strong presence on the road, issuing 10 speeding fines along a section of roadworks on Forrest Highway, Myalup.
Harvey police acting Sgt Jon Adams said motorists needed to remember the road was also a workplace.
“Road workers deserve to be safe while they go about their duties on the side of our highways and we will continue to monitor and enforce the limits in these zones,” he said.
Police issued a “hefty” speeding ticket to a green P plate driver on Mornington Road near Wokalup. Police will allege the man was travelling at 114kmh, 44kmh above the speed limit.
