Charges re­sult from in­ci­dent

Bun­bury De­tec­tives have charged two men in re­la­tion to a driv­ing in­ci­dent in Leschenault that was live-streamed on so­cial me­dia.

Of­fi­cers will al­lege the driver of a red Holden ute be­gan to pur­sue a sil­ver Toy­ota Corolla on Old Coast Road and For­rest High­way at about 5.38pm on Septem­ber 30.

Vi­sion of the in­ci­dent up­loaded to an on­line plat­form show the driver of the util­ity al­legedly com­mit­ting a num­ber of traf­fic of­fences.

The vi­sion also showed the pas­sen­ger us­ing a base­ball bat to smash the driver’s win­dow of the Toy­ota Corolla while both ve­hi­cles were still be­ing driven.

Po­lice charged a 21-year-old Leschenault man with crim­i­nal dam­age, reck­less driv­ing, driv­ing us­ing a mo­bile phone and be­ing armed in a way that may cause fear.

A 20-year-old Aus­tralind man was charged with crim­i­nal dam­age, fail­ing to wear a seat­belt, pas­sen­ger body or limbs pro­trud­ing from a ve­hi­cle and be­ing armed in a way that may cause fear.

Po­lice also seized a Holden ute and other items re­lat­ing to the al­leged of­fences.
