ALCOA WA­ROONA SUS­TAIN­ABIL­ITY FUND

Ap­pli­ca­tions are in­vited from an en­thu­si­as­tic and ded­i­cated per­son from the com­mu­nity to fill one (1) po­si­tion as com­mu­nity rep­re­sen­ta­tive on the Alcoa Wa­roona Sus­tain­abil­ity Fund Ad­vi­sory Com­mit­tee for a two (2) year term. The Ad­vi­sory Com­mit­tee will be re­spon­si­ble for ad­min­is­ter­ing the Alcoa Wa­roona Sus­tain­abil­ity Fund (AWSF). The Com­mit­tee will have the re­spon­si­bil­ity of de­vel­op­ing guide­lines for grants and mak­ing rec­om­men­da­tions for suc­cess­ful grants to the Shire of Wa­roona for fi­nal ap­proval. A guid­ing prin­ci­ple of the fund is that the fund is to be used for one-off, in­no­va­tive, larger com­mu­nity de­vel­op­ment type projects that make a net po­si­tion con­tri­bu­tion to the sus­tain­abil­ity of the re­gion sur­round­ing the Wagerup re­fin­ery, with a fo­cus on the ar­eas of Wa­roona, Lake Clifton, Pre­ston Beach, Nanga Brook, Wagerup and Hamel. Prospec­tive ap­pli­cants need to be aware that they may be called upon from time to time to make dif­fi­cult de­ci­sions when it comes to analysing large-scale projects and mak­ing rec­om­men­da­tions for fund­ing. The com­mit­tee cur­rently meets ap­prox 2 to 3 times per year. Ap­pli­ca­tion forms and fur­ther de­tails are avail­able from the Shire Of­fice or on the Shire web­site www.wa­roona.wa.gov.au .
