Hahn brings her top tips
Celebrity gardener Sabrina Hahn will make her first appearance at the Brunswick Show this weekend bringing her vast horticulture knowledge to backyard enthusiasts in the region.
Ms Hahn will be at the show to share her extensive gardening experience and encouraged anyone with a green thumb to bring along any plants with health problems or ones they could not identify.”
“I like to call it the ‘bring out your dead and dying’ session,” she said.
“I’ll be talking about increasing the biodiversity of your gardens, bringing lots more critters to the yard to eat the bad bugs and the importance of knowing your soil.”
Ms Hahn said she always checked out the fresh produce markets and the sheep dog trials whenever she attended an agriculture show in the country.
“I love wandering through the markets, looking at all the fruit, veggies, jams,” she said.
“I love all homegrown produce, I really like to eat.”
Ms Hahn said she grew up in a country town and loved getting out of the city.
“Country people are always willing share their tips and tricks in the garden,” Ms Hahn said.
The gardening expert said she would also talk about making the most of every drop of rain and responsible use of fertilisers.
“Leeching is becoming a major problem and because of the river in the area, over-fertilising will mess up the groundwater,” she said.
You can catch Sabrina Hahn’s talks and Q and As at 12.30pm and 2.30pm on show day.
