Harvey’s Bianca Panetta Academy of Dance has returned from a twoweek-long festival in Perth, with all 15 students taking home an award.

Founder and principal Bianca Panetta said the students exceeded her expectations at the Bayswater Dance Festival.

“A few of the kids placed first in their solos, out of about 20 to 30 other kids, which is fantastic,” she said. Ms Panetta said this was the third year her school had competed in the festival and the first time entering into the dance troupe category.

“It was a lot harder working in a big group but the kids performed really well,” Ms Panetta said.

“Watching their improvement and seeing the results, that was the biggest shock, seeing how well they really did.” Adding to the academy’s busy calendar is the upcoming newspaper-themed end-of-year concert on November 24 at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre.

The academy has also been holding fund raisers for a planned trip to the US next year, which will see the students trained in Las Vegas and New York and performing at Disneyland and Universal Studios.
