You can also visit can­cer­screen­ing.gov.au IF YOU’RE A MAN: Talk to your doc­tor about prostate cancer test­ing. There isn’t a na­tional screen­ing pro­gram due to the pros and cons of the tests cur­rently avail­able, but be­cause 90 per cent of new prostate cancer cases oc­cur in men aged 55 years and over, your GP may rec­om­mend an an­nual dig­i­tal prostate exam once you’re over the age of 50.
