In China, analysts think electric vehicles will take several years to be financially viable. Sales are up 82 per cent though gains have been driven primarily by generous government subsidies. EV buyers can get a subsidy equating to more than $10,000 while plug-in hybrid buyers get almost $6000.
Hot on the heels of Jaguar’s classic rebuild success, Aston Martin plans to reconstruct the DB4 GT. Jaguar sold nine examples of the 1957 XKSS sports car at $2 million each and Aston aims to emulate that by selling 25 track-only DB4s for $2.5 million each. They will have few mod-cons to maintain historical faith.

Technology giant Nvidia has gained permission to test self-driving vehicles on California roads. Best known for its computer graphics cards, Nvidia is in partnership with Chinese web giant Baidu to further develop semiautonomous vehicles.
