Honda has just joined the 100 million club. Its cumulative production total passed the major milestone in December thanks to factories at 34 locations in 18 countries. Its first vehicle was the T360 mini truck in 1963 and its Accord was the first passenger car produced in the US by a Japanese maker.
In an automotive world first, Skype for Business soon will allow Volvo 90 Series owners to check on coming meetings and participants then, via the infotainment set-up, join in. Volvo says these “in-car productivity tools” will allow people to spend less time in the office. No news yet on its uptake in Australia.
An all-new Kia GT, Toyota Camry, Honda Odyssey and fifth-generation Lexus LS are among headliners for next week’s Detroit show. Concepts include a giant Audi Q8 SUV and an electric rework of VW’s classic Kombi.
